Township of Hamilton

The Township of Hamilton is a municipality in Atlantic County, New Jersey, with a history that stretches back to the earliest days of European settlement along the southern New Jersey coast. The area was originally inhabited by the Lenni Lenape people of the Absegami band, who lived along the waterways and forests that define the region. European settlers arrived in the early 1700s, drawn by the abundant timber and navigable rivers.
