Jersey Shore Gas Tracker: Find and Share Local Gas Prices

Gas prices can vary from one station to the next—even within the same town. The Jersey Shore Gas Tracker gives neighbors a place to share the prices they see, compare reports, and watch how prices change at individual stations.
What can you do with the tracker?
Find stations near you. With your permission, the tracker uses your phone's location to show nearby station listings. You can search the list by station name, street, or town. If a station is missing, you can look up its address while preparing a report.
Check community-reported prices. Browse submitted prices by station, location, fuel type, and date. A station may appear in the nearby search before anyone has reported a price there.
Report a price you saw. Select a station or enter its details, choose the fuel type, and include the price and the date you observed it. Reports become visible to other visitors. Please check the posted price at the station before relying on an older report.
Follow price history. When multiple reports are submitted for the same station, visitors can see how its reported price has changed over time. The tracker also asks reporters to confirm a possible station match so reports can stay together.
Estimate fuel taxes. Enter a state, fuel type, price per gallon, and fill-up amount to see an estimated fuel-tax breakdown. Some state and local rates vary, so the calculator identifies when its estimate is incomplete.
Help make the prices more useful
The tracker becomes more helpful as people contribute. If you see a posted price while filling up, take a moment to report the station, fuel type, price per gallon, and when you saw it. A recent report can help the next person decide where to stop.
The tracker is called the Jersey Shore Gas Tracker because that is where this project started, but visitors can submit reports from other states as well.
Why did I create it?
While researching New Jersey's gas tax and Jersey Shore gas prices, I wanted a practical way for people to compare what they actually see at the pump. State and regional averages are useful context, but they cannot tell you the posted price at every individual station. Community reports can help fill that gap.
Frequently asked questions
Are the prices live?
No. Prices are submitted by visitors with an observation date and may have changed since they were reported. Check the station's posted price before purchasing.
Do I need to know a station's full address?
No. You can use the nearby-station search if you allow location access. If the station is missing, the tracker also offers an address lookup while you prepare a report.
Can I see whether a station's price went up or down?
Yes, when that station has multiple community reports. Open its price history to see the reported changes over time.
Does the tax calculator show the exact taxes on my receipt?
It provides an estimate based on the available fuel-tax rates. Some local or variable taxes may not be included, and the tracker identifies incomplete estimates.
