What's Your SCORE Lucky Number?
One score equals 20 years. Enter your age and discover your lucky number.
You've probably heard Abraham Lincoln say “Four score and seven years ago…” in the Gettysburg Address. A score simply means 20 years. Now we're turning that old-fashioned word into a fun little numbers game.
Four score and seven years ago…
1 score = 20 years
Enter your age as a whole number between 1 and 120.
How It Works
How the SCORE Lucky Number Works
Standard Rule for Age 20 and Older
- Divide age into full groups of 20.
- Identify the leftover years.
- Multiply full scores × leftover years.
- Add the digits repeatedly until reaching one digit from 0–9.
Example age 51:
51 = 2 scores + 11 years
2 × 11 = 22
2 + 2 = 4
Lucky Number = 4
Exact multiples of 20:
Age 20: 1 score + 0 years
1 × 0 = 0
Lucky Number = 0
Age 40: 2 scores + 0 years
2 × 0 = 0
Lucky Number = 0
Age 60: 3 scores + 0 years
3 × 0 = 0
Lucky Number = 0
Lucky Number 0 remains: The Wild Card
Under 20? You Can Play Too!
If you haven't reached your first full 20-year score yet, we count you as having 1 score in progress.
Simply multiply:
1 × your age
Then add the digits until you reach one number.
Example:
Age 17:
1 × 17 = 17
1 + 7 = 8
Lucky Number = 8
Once you turn 20, the standard SCORE calculation begins.
The Challenge
Can your friends figure out your age?
Instead of posting your actual age, share your result like this:
“I'm 2 scores and 11 years old. My Lucky Number is 4.”
Then challenge your friends to figure out your real age.
The History
Wait — What Exactly Is a “Score”?
A score is an old word meaning a group of 20.
1 score = 20 years
2 scores = 40 years
3 scores = 60 years

One of the most famous uses of the word appears in Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, which begins:

Four score equals 80 years, plus seven more years, for a total of 87 years.
That historical phrase is the inspiration for this game.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions About the SCORE Lucky Number
How many years are in a score?
A score equals 20 years.
What does “four score and seven years” mean?
Four score is 80 years. Adding seven years makes 87 years.
How does the SCORE Lucky Number calculator work?
It converts your age into full 20-year scores plus the remaining years, multiplies those two numbers, and then adds the digits of the result until a single digit from 0 through 9 remains. If you are under 20, you are counted as having 1 score in progress, so the calculator multiplies 1 by your age before adding the digits.
What happens if my age is an exact multiple of 20?
Your remaining years equal zero, so your SCORE Lucky Number is 0 — The Wild Card.
Is the SCORE Lucky Number based on numerology?
No. This game is simply for entertainment and uses a custom calculation created for this page.
Can someone under 20 play the SCORE Lucky Number game?
Yes. If you are younger than 20, you are considered to have 1 score in progress for purposes of the game. Multiply 1 by your age, then add the digits until you reach a single number.
Example:
Age 17:
1 × 17 = 17
1 + 7 = 8
Your Lucky Number is 8.
“1 score in progress” is simply a fun game rule and does not change the actual meaning of the word score, which is still 20 years.
Just for fun: The SCORE Lucky Number game is for entertainment purposes only. The number meanings are playful personality descriptions and are not based on numerology, astrology or scientific personality testing.
